Position Overview

We're seeking a motivated Technician to join our service team. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in commercial vehicle maintenance, whether you're just starting out or have some experience under your belt. You'll work under the guidance of experienced technicians while performing essential maintenance and inspection tasks that keep our customers' fleets running safely and efficiently.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform basic preventive maintenance services on light- and heavy-duty vehicles, including lube, oil, and filter changes, under supervision.

  • Fluid Management: Check and top off fluid levels (engine oil, coolant, washer fluid, transmission fluid, power steering, etc.) and report any leaks or concerns.

  • Tire Services: Change tires, including removing and installing wheels, tire repairs, and assisting with tire rotations and balancing as directed. Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper air pressure, and document findings on inspection forms.

  • Safety Inspections: Perform basic safety inspections using a checklist (lights, wipers, belts, hoses, batteries, brakes visual, leaks) and note recommended repairs for higher-level technicians.

  • Repair Assistance: Assist senior technicians with simple repairs such as battery testing/replacement and basic component swaps as skills develop.

  • Shop Maintenance: Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas; handle shop tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe manner at all times.

  • Documentation: Accurately document work performed on repair orders or inspection sheets and communicate any additional needs to the Service Advisor or lead technician.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical positions

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn

  • Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness

  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

  • Previous automotive or diesel technician experience is a plus but not required
